Chelsey Kidd

Chelsey Kidd, Komen Educator Volunteer, wife, and mother of two, is celebrating 12 years of survivorship. Chelsey was diagnosed at the age of 24 and had a lumpectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation to treat her cancer. When she found a second lump 8 years later, which resulted in a diagnosis of a second, unrelated breast cancer, Chelsey chose to have a double mastectomy with reconstruction and to have her ovaries removed. Cancer-free, she takes medicine daily to reduce her risk of recurrence. Chelsey drew strength from the support and love of family and friends through her treatment and recovery. Thankful to be alive and healthy, she has learned to appreciate that all moments are precious, even when the going gets tough.
